![]() Jupiter and his 5 underweight siblings were fresh off the streets and in rough condition. Jupiter came to our partner organization, Orphan Kitten Project, in Davis, CA at just 3 weeks of age. Finally, Smagu is playful for the first time ever- way to go, little guy! His foster says he is like a completely different kitten. In addition to not having a gallbladder, Smaug has hypothyroidism! With a bit of fluid therapy and the smallest dose of Levothyroxine ever made, Smaug began to thrive! Orphan Kitten Club granted the funding necessary to care for Smaug’s complex case. Overnight, he became laterally recumbent, and doctors were unsure if he would pull through, but Smaug defied the odds! The doctors performed every test they could think of, eventually leading them to a diagnosis. He was taken to the hospital because the team could tell something was off about this tiny tabby. Smaug lacked energy, developed slowly, and wasn’t meeting the same milestones as his littermates. Once the coccidia was managed, everyone started thriving except Smaug. They faced battle after battle, including a severe case of coccidia. Smaug & his siblings were just six days old when they were brought to our partner, Six Kittens Rescue, in Bryan, Texas. He was put on antibiotics to prevent infections, and he started crushing baby bottles in his foster home – showing everyone just how strong and determined he is. With the support of Orphan Kitten Club and the expertise of the veterinary team, Creek was able to start his recovery. That’s where Orphan Kitten Club came in and granted the funding needed to cover the medical expenses for this tiny little micro panther. The skilled veterinarian cleaned and cauterized his wounds and stitched them up with precision. ![]() Thanks to their quick thinking and expert care, Creek received the treatment he needed to recover. The Alabama-based rescue knew that Creek needed immediate medical attention to survive, so they took him to their trusted veterinarian. ![]() Creek was lucky to be rushed to a clinic, and that’s when our partner, Mobile Cat Society, stepped in to give him the help he needed. The puncture was so severe that the fatty tissues around his organs protruded through the bite, causing life-threatening complications. When a dog mouthed barely two-week-old Creek Banks, he was left with multiple bite marks on his back and a devastating wound on his stomach. ![]()
